Very attentive and friendly staff.

The breakfast offering was very scarce. The fried egg container was practically empty l got the 2nd last egg. It should have been topped up at all times. There was no hash browns, tomatoes or mushrooms on offer either. This was between 9 - 9.30am and there was not many guests in the breakfast room.

Wonderful place. Yes, book to stay and eat.

Wonderful location. Historic building. Superb food. Clean room and bathroom. The opportunity to use the hotel leisure facilities is great. I would recommend this property for staying and eating.

The leisure facilities were a bit too busy with children's swimming classes. Too much noise, and we couldn't really use the swimming pool at all due to the activity mentioned. I think the evenings should be reserved for hotel guests only. Big gym, was busy, we didn't go in. The steam room looked like it needed a very good clean. It didn't felt a place i would go back. The sauna wasn't too warm, and the air didn't felt dry enough for myself. The chambermaids "boss?" - i don't know - Were a little impersonal, and i think he was just "doing his job" but personally i felt his manners could be improved.

We had a lovely three night stay and the staff in the leisure centre were very welcoming....

The breakfast was wonderful and staff very obliging if you required anything extra...very approachable and friendly staff...

Really lovely hotel and service would be excellent if minor issues noted were addressed.

This is an excellent hotel, lovely ambiance, great decor, very comfortable, friendly staff. Terrific location and very convenient to town center. Great leisure center.

I love this manor house hotel and return frequently. However, I note that room service is very limited especially if arriving late. Facilities for late night residents is very limited - no food available after bar hours - real pity for a high caliber hotel. Also, while food allergy notations are available on the menu - greater attention to side dishes/garnishes is needed (e.g., salad dressings) and staff need to have a greater awareness of this.

Breathe taking views from bedroom.

The bedroom looked on to the ruins of an old Abbey it was amazing view and you walk around the old Abbey as well. The swimming pool was great for the week for the kids they loved it. And the food during day was great, at night you could go out to dinner or have dinner from bar menu or a lá carte. Hotel provided free face painting to all the kids staying in hotel over Halloween ???? ???? ️ ???? so my two were excited even for Halloween ???? For a town being so boring the hotel made up for it and after all it was a break away we were there for 4 nights. Plenty of time to take in the views and the town.

The pool was cold the first two nights were there and the steam room wasn't working, and the hot tub wasn't working either for the week, although pools temperature, was amazing on our final fourth it was soo warm ye didn't want to get out. The hotel ran a kids club but it only ran from 5pm to 8pm. There was nothing to do close by or in the town, it was very boring, if u wanted to see anything it was between 50 - 80 miles away to travel it wasn't really good start. So we just made our own fun.

The breakfast was very good and the hotel devor is nice

The room was tiny for the cost. Nice room but tiny bed. Advertised as double bed but was small single. The bar was in dissarray.

Stunning hotel which was such good value for money. I would thoroughly recommend The Abbey Hotel.

This was a lovely hotel. Very regal. I felt I was staying in a castle (it did help that we were in the best room/suite in the hotel). Most of the staff were lovely. Breakfast was lovely apart from no beans, which left it a bit dry. The view of the abbey ruins from our bedroom was gorgeous.

The barman (who seemed to be in charge) was very miserable. There were a number of drunk people to deal with, but that wasn't our fault. He just didn't believe in service with a smile. Our room was stunning in every way, apart from the carpets which, although smelled clean and fresh, were stained in a number of places, especially in the bathroom where i presume the bath had leaked. Also, carpet in the toilet is a huge no no for me.

We were at a wedding, the meal was lovely, hot.

The ESB went, the water also went, as a result the toilets could not be flushed, thankfully myself and my husband were only slightly effected but many people were badly affected by it, there was no information given, there were many complaints this more. We will not be going back

Breakfast -excellent. Beautiful brown bread and fries!!! Room was superb--The lovely receptionist suggested a ground floor room-- what an understanding lady. The pins are not as good as they used to be.!!! The staff throughout were charming and helpful. I used to travel to Whites hotel in Wexford. Not any more! Similar in some ways, but you are superior. When Whites were in charge it was fine, but the new regime have spoiled the grandeur and excellence of the Hotel. People come for a break to be spoiled. You have got it. Your Leisure centre is excellent. May I make a small recommendation-- Buy a few -3 - plastic chairs to place outside the Steam and Sauna, for old Geesers like me to rest for 10 mins. between sessions. I have been using those places for sixty years, and have always enjoyed a rest between sessions. I cannot find superlatives adequate to enhance my appreciation. Thank you.
